Rooted in the beloved spirit of hospitality, La Teranga Catering brings the vibrant flavors of Senegal and West Africa to you.
La Teranga Catering is the next chapter in a story that began in 2012, when Mamadou and Nabou opened La Teranga, one of Seattle’s first Senegalese restaurants. Located in the heart of Columbia City, the cozy five-table spot quickly became a hidden gem, welcoming diners with the warmth of traditional Senegalese hospitality and unforgettable West African dishes.
For nearly a decade, La Teranga wasn’t just a place to eat—it was a cultural experience. Locals and newcomers alike found community, comfort, and bold, soulful flavors in every bite. La Teranga closed in 2019—though the physical space shut down, the passion behind it never left.
Now, Mamadou and Nabou are thrilled to reintroduce their food and culture to Seattle through La Teranga Catering. With this new venture, they continue their mission of sharing the rich culinary traditions of Senegal and West Africa—this time by bringing the flavors directly to your gatherings, events, and special occasions.
Whether you're planning a celebration, corporate event, or intimate dinner, La Teranga Catering offers authentic Senegalese cuisine made with love, tradition, and a whole lot of teranga—the Wolof word for hospitality and generosity.
Let us bring the taste of Senegal to your table!
After all these years, Mamadou and Nabou are proud to be back—cooking for the city that welcomed them with open arms and continuing to serve the community one delicious plate at a time.
